STEM Development Consultant
Are you an exceptional communicator who is passionate about improving future options for young people?
We’re seeking expressions of interest from individuals who have a background in any STEM related discipline and who want to create and deliver excellent STEM enrichment activities to young people across our region.
You will be responsible for engaging with schools and STEM businesses across the peninsula, to design and deliver STEM activities to young people aged 5-19 in a range of educational and non-school settings. Supported by the S2E and STEM contract manager you will work towards a STEM delivery plan, to deliver objectives across our STEM contracts as agreed. You will work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders and partners to promote STEM education, provide advice and expertise and facilitate the growth of STEM enrichment opportunities across the region.
You will be liaising with teachers, group leaders and individuals to advise on STEM engagement with local employers. You will develop strong relationships with the business community in key sector areas, delivering presentations as required. You will promote the wider STEM Learning Network offer including the STEM Ambassador programme and other opportunities for STEM engagement to businesses in the region.
CSW Group are the largest single provider of information, advice and guidance services across the South West (SW) region and operate a range of contracts supporting young people to make successful transitions at key points of their lives. We deliver a range of STEM contracts and activities across the SW region on behalf of funders and partners, liaising with volunteers from a wide range of STEM disciplines to inspire young people aged 5 -19 about STEM careers.
Essential Criteria:
- A STEM related qualification or evidence of equivalent expertise/knowledge
- A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of the STEM agenda and/or careers landscape
- Ability to form relationships and work effectively with colleagues, partners and other stakeholders
- Digital, creative and presentation skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- The ability to be proactive and to use your own initiative
- Ability to work flexibly
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience of working in a STEM related industry and/or school setting
- Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance and Development or equivalent
