CSW Group are delighted to have been awarded the Skills for Young People contract in Dorset, funded by the European Social Fund (ESF).

The project supports 15-24 year olds not in work; education or training or those who are at risk of falling away from education and training are being urged to take advantage of £900,000 allocated to develop skills and progress onto a range of positive outcomes that include employment, education, apprenticeships and traineeships.

The funding is available until July 2021, supporting 572 young people.

There will be a key focus on the Local Enterprise Partnerships priority sectors, however this is not an exclusive list and flexibility is at the heart of the project.

  • Care-tech (Care and Med-tech)
  • Creative & Digital Industries
  • Energy
  • Financial Services & Insurance
  • Nuclear
  • Rural productivity (including Agri-tech)
  • Advanced Engineering & Manufacturing (including Aerospace and Marine)

There will be focus on STEM, developing work experience and pre-employment opportunities.

The project is delivered through a skilled subcontractor network supporting young people from priority groups to move closer to employment or further learning in line with LEP priorities.

15-24  year olds who are NEET or at risk of being NEET can access this service locally and select from a wide range of training to build confidence, resilience and learn how to overcome personal barriers.
