X left school in May 2021 and has been inactive from education, employment or training since then. He struggled with the school environment, lacked confidence and motivation. He didn’t have an idea of what he wanted to achieve when he was referred to the COMPASS Project in February 2022. Following 1:1 sessions identifying strengths and suitable career pathways, X wanted to pursue an apprenticeship.

With support from Groundwork South on the COMPASS project he applied for an apprenticeship and was shortlisted for interview. He was successful at interview and in February 2023 was offered a position as a Highways Level 2 Apprentice with CORMAC which he has now started.
