COMPASS helps Dance enthusiast to identify strengths and identify suitable career pathways

Nicola had struggled at school with Dyslexia. With the support of COMPASS partner Groundwork South, she received 1:1 support to consider her options and identify a suitable career pathway. This included considering her strengths, CV and personal statement writing, interview skills, and applications for college or jobs.

Having a passion for dance and a dream of one day become a dance teacher, she is thrilled to now be enrolled at college to study Level 3 Dance.

I first met Maxine in July this year. I had left school and didn’t know what I wanted to do and had no direction or anything lined up. I am dyslexic so struggled a lot at school.  Maxine offered to support me with The COMPASS Project

Through 1:1 sessions with Maxine and COMPASS, she helped me identify my strengths and also identify suitable career pathways. She also helped me create my own CV & Personal Statement which reminded me of what I have already achieved.  I have always loved dancing and now have realised I would like to qualify to teach dance one day.

I have just enrolled at college to study Level 3 Dance.
