COMPASS has changed my life

“COMPASS has changed my life!”

Ruan a young career, was struggling with her mental health, confidence, and anxiety following a bad experience at her first job. But with the support of Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change and partners, she has found her direction. This support empowered her to successfully gain a job as a Visitor Assistant at St Michaels Mount, Marazion. She is also volunteering at The Hall for Cornwall and organising events for CN4C. Her future also includes the possibility of Higher Education.

Ruans goals when joining COMPASS were;

  • Build confidence
  • Have support CV writing
  • Have support with finding work experience
  • Have guidance support/coaching to find direction
  • Attend group events to socialise / have support with finding other groups in the community
  • Have support with applying for a job she is interested in.

Ruan has achieved and exceeded her original goal, as she now has several organisations of support in place, she has joined a social group, she is employed and has had support with finding a suitable degree that she are interested in pursuing.
