COMPASS Gives Ryan the Boost He Needed to Secure a Job

COMPASS partner Whitehead Ross Education & Consulting gave Ryan, 23, the boost he needed to secure a job following a period of unemployment. The support does not stop there, he is also getting ongoing help to achieve his long term goals.

Ryan was referred to us by the Job Centre as he had been struggling to get back into work after being unemployed for a period of time. He had previously worked in kitchens and was looking to return to a similar role whilst gaining some training in other areas. Whilst he was confident with interviews, he found it difficult to stay in a role.

Whilst on programme, Ryan worked with me to identify his skills and create a plan of what he wanted to achieve in both the short and long term. He decided to apply for kitchen-based roles whilst studying for an IT level 2 course to expand his options in the future. We also worked on creating consistent routines so when he found the job he wanted, he would be able to stay in the role long term.

Ryan has now gained full time employment in a kitchen and has successfully been in this position for a month now. He has also accepted a referral to another agency who will be able to support him with his mental health whilst staying in work. He is now looking to continue his IT skills course to expand his skills further.
