Annabelle found her direction with the support of COMPASS partner Argyle Community Trust
Annabelle was struggling to find work for a few months which was affecting her mental health and self-confidence. Her previous work experience included cleaning and bar work. Annabelle was very clear from the start about how she loved working in restaurants and bars, with her end goal being to find employment in said environment. On this course, she was hoping to uplevel her knowledge on management skills and how to create a CV that is professional.
Since joining the course, Annabelle has thrived throughout all areas. For example, she demonstrated strong leadership skills in practical activities as well as sharing different job search tips that have worked for her in the past.
Annabelle explained,
“My CV has never looked more professional, and I have gained confidence in writing cover letters that highlight my strengths and match the job description.”
Argyle Community Trust said they are pleased to say that Annabelle has successfully got a job working in hospitality as part of the Front of House Staff. Annabelle has stated that her increase in self-confidence was boosted by completing the Level 1 Attitudes, Behaviour and Attributes.
“The course has given the boost to believe in myself again and feel more prepared to apply for higher manager roles in the future. The 1:1 mentoring by the tutor, made the course personal to me and would show me opportunities that fitted my goals.”
