On 8 October, a busy Royal Cornwall Showground opened its doors to hundreds of young people looking for advice and inspiration. The event, set up by Careers Hub and Next Step, hopes to raise awareness of the opportunities in Cornwall, by showcasing a range of employers from different sectors.

Staff from Ambitions and CSW Group were busy all day long, issuing careers advice to hundreds of eager young people. We’d like to thank everyone who actively took part in the holiday game and learned about making informed decisions. We hope you will put this into practise when making choices about what to do next after year 11.

Accompanying our team was the robot Coji; which kept our visitors entertained whilst they practised their coding skills.

Our team were also busy representing the Apprenticeship, Skills and Knowledge (ASK) project. We directed people to the website and encouraged them to register, so they can find out about fantastic opportunities.

We were also busy speaking to all the friendly teachers during the day and asking them to register on the ASK website as well. We hope to visit schools across Cornwall, delivering up to four different activities to help improve everyone’s knowledge and understanding of apprenticeships.

If you’re a pupil, teacher or a parent and want to know more about apprenticeships then visit https://amazingapprenticeships.com/about-ask and register an interest for your school.
