Yep! Logan is work ready

Logan joined the Yep! project in February, when he was a 6th Form student attending a Work Skills Group but at risk of not being engaged in any form of provision and with no firm plans for what he would do when his course finished.

Logan had low confidence, and he felt lost, but knew that he wanted to prepare himself for adulthood and gain a CV that he could use to support him to gain employment in the future.

Logan’s CSW Group Key Worker, Olivia advised him of a Confidence, Motivation and Resilience Course that our partner Active Plus offered. Logan agreed that he would find it beneficial and signed up to attend. Logan completed this course in March 2024, with his Key Worker attending the final session and proudly witnessing the significant change in Logan whilst he delivered a presentation to his peers.

Whilst attending this course, Logan also received 1-1 support from his Key Worker to write a CV, gain a provisional driving licence and open his own bank account. Logan has stated how easier his life feels now he has these.

With a collaborative approach between Active Plus and CSW Group to build Logan’s knowledge around employability skills and employer expectations, Logan now feels ready to find employment as the barriers he faced at the beginning have now reduced. Logan has recently applied for his first job and has a better understanding of the process of job searching and job applications, along with interview expectations.

With the support of the project, Logan feels he now has everything he needs to start adult life. He is searching for jobs and other voluntary opportunities to enhance his CV.

Logan feels through the support of the project and his increased confidence, he has become a lot more active and is going out with his friends more rather than staying in his room at home. Logan plans to join a gym and maintain his activity levels, as this makes him feel better. He has also gone hiking with his friends – a new enjoyment in his life.

Logan would highly recommend the project to others and feels very positive and happy from the support he has received.

‘In February time, my confidence was pretty low, and I felt pretty lost. I now feel I have the things I need to start adult life, like a provisional driving licence and a bank account, which has made things so much easier. I’ve been wanting these for a very long time, and the project has made it possible.’

‘I’m really thankful for the help Olivia has given me over the past couple of months.’
