Annabelle found her direction with the support of COMPASS partner Argyle Community Trust

Charlotte lacked confidence and suffered from anxiety and depression after loosing her job.  With the support of COMPASS partner Real Ideas Organisation (RIO) she engaged with Game Academy which boosted her confidence, she can now recognise the skills she demonstrated including communication, teamwork, and leadership. Game Academy allowed Charlotte to explore digital roles and speak to industry professionals about their journey’s.

Charlotte went from only messaging, to talking on the phone, attending Game Academy online then eventually joining in face-to-face delivery. She has attended several drop-in sessions where she has got involved in VR, cooking and creative activities and most recently, she attended a Christmas craft making workshop. During these face-to-face sessions, Charlotte has gained confidence and openly talks with other young people on the programme as well as members of staff.

Charlotte is still on the project while she gets further support with her next steps. She has been asked to join the next Game Academy cohort in a supporting role to new young people which has boosted her confidence.
