Since the launch of SMART SKILLS in April, our talented Skills Advisor, Sean Gibson, has initiated a new partnership between our SMART Partner South Devon College and global composites supplier Anglo Krempel to help reduce waste.
Anglo Krempel is a world-class supplier of composites and polymer products to the aerospace, medical, automotive, transport and industrial markets and is based locally in Bideford, Devon. Some of their finished products have a shelf life and once they have expired the products are sent to landfill. With the SMART SKILLS team taking part in the Green Impact programme and with a recycling rate of less than 50% in the UK, Sean was keen to find a way to make use of and recycle the expired products. Sean identified the opportunity for South Devon College to use the expired products at their Composites Centre. In the future, Anglo Krempel’s expired products will be received by South Devon College to support and enhance the educational experience of participants on their range of Composites courses.
