Kickstart Scheme Ends but It’s Not Too Late to Develop Skills

It has now been over a month since the fantastic Kickstart scheme came to a close.  The scheme offered the opportunity for individuals aged between 16-24 to enter a position within the workplace, with the expense footed by the UK Government.  The Kickstart scheme offered a great pathway for young people to gain vital real life work experience and also earn a wage at the same time.

With over 120,000 Kickstart placements filled, many will be at different stages of their Kickstart journey. For those still going through their 6-month placement, there is still the opportunity to expand their skills by accessing fully funded training and qualifications through SMART SKILLS. Kickstarters can develop their skills for the job they want and gain skills that are valuable to the employer. The training on offer ranges from short courses through to qualifications, including short courses in Functional Skills for the Workplace, Digital Skills, Digital Marketing workshops, plus accredited courses in Team Leading and Coaching & Mentoring. Training is funded by the European Social Fund which means there is no cost to the employer or individual.

Contact the SMART SKILLS Hub to find training, support and advice to help your Kickstarters gain valuable new skills for employment.
