We work in partnership with a range of education providers and businesses to support young people to raise aspirations and access opportunities to create the workforce of tomorrow. We deliver a range of exciting and innovative activities aimed at both young people and businesses to create opportunities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) primarily.
We help young people to learn the necessary skills for a productive life and foster the development of an enterprise culture in schools and colleges. We forge better links between businesses and education providers, actively involving businesses in education provision.
Our service comprises four key elements:
- Work experience – which helps young people to develop vital employability skills to prepare for life after education
- STEM Ambassadors programme – through which volunteers from STEM businesses help to inspire young people through STEM-related careers advice, clubs, challenges and competitions
- Big Bang South West – which includes a variety of events across the region to enable young people to showcase their discoveries and interact with STEM businesses
- Enterprise Education – which offers schools a chance to work alongside business professionals who can inspire and prepare young people for work
