Database Administrator

As a member of the team of Database Administrators could you manage the administration, configuration and maintenance of database systems with demonstrable experience in the areas of database development, administration and maintenance? Are you able to lead and manage ICT developments and projects on the company’s behalf? Do you have a range of technical and programming skills, a deep understanding of ICT development, test and production management methodologies, and of related ISO and other standards? Do you have an ongoing interest in ICT and technology trends, as well as developing your own skills and proficiency.
The purpose of the Database Administrator is to process data and prepare for upload of bulk data sets into database systems, provide technical support for and development of data provision and data storage systems throughout the organisation, support the company Bidding, CRM, Performance and Contract Management systems and to assist with database system security and disaster recovery plans.
Essential Criteria:
– Microsoft SQL experience (Versions 2012 and above) – including queries, stored procedures, functions and views, as well as use of SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
– Microsoft SSRS experience – creation of SSRS reports and report solutions using Visual Studio, administration of Report Servers.
– Microsoft SSIS experience – creation of SSIS packages and solutions.
– Data manipulation – experience of manipulating and importing data into SQL tables, from sources such as Excel and CSV, using – MS Access and Flat File Import.
Desirable Criteria:
– Technical Skills: MS Visual Basic for Applications, Visual Studio Professional, Visual Basic, Knowledge of system and secure development techniques and processes including OWASP principles.
Personal Attributes: Listening skills, positive response to challenge, ability to respond to user needs, tenacity, positivity, motivation and determination.
