The CSW Client Relations Advisers work on the Transitions contract which is funded by Local Authorities across Devon, Torbay, Plymouth and Cornwall. The aim of the contract is to provide targeted support for the most vulnerable young people to ensure successful transition to their post 16 destination.

Jordan Reed, one of our Client Relations Advisers, explains how young people benefit from our calls.

‘’Being involved in the Client Relations Team is an extremely fulfilling role. The work of this busy team is to ensure that all young people, aged 16 – 19, living across the large area of Devon, Plymouth, Torbay, and Cornwall, are involved in work, education, or training, and if not, offering them the support they need. The post 16 decisions that young people make can be some of the most important of their lives, and the Client Relations Advisers are proud to enable young people to get the support they need in making such decisions. Working closely with CSW Career Development Consultants and Community Engagement Advisers, the Client Relations Team are CSW’s first point of contact for many young people after year 11, giving them the opportunity to make the best decisions in their transition years.

The Client Relations Team is tasked with contacting young people to ask what post 16 activities they have progressed onto. If a young person is looking for support because they are not in education, employment, or training (NEET) our experienced and knowledgeable team reassure them that they are speaking to the right people. The team use their knowledge to signpost young people to services available to them, as well as keeping in regular contact to make sure that they are getting the support they are entitled to. This regular contact enables us to establish rapport with the young people and parents, as well as seeing firsthand how our support has benefited them.

The Client Relations Team are proud to look out for the best interests of young people.  Parents and young people alike have thanked us for the work we do and hearing the successes of their stories is one of the best parts of the job”.

During the COVID19 pandemic and lockdown all our Client Relations Team have continued working throughout making calls to young people and supporting those who have lost their job or have been placed on furlough.
