Our Partnership Manager, Rocky Moore who looks after our Solent contracts attended the much anticipated Solent LEP Annual Conference earlier this year hosted at the Hilton Ageas in Southampton. The conference brought together employers & providers from all sectors, and was supported by stakeholders such as Local Authorities, DWP & the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce.
The Countdown to BREXIT was the main theme of the event and the how the potential changes might impact businesses and individuals across the Solent. Keynote speakers included Simon Jacks, the BBC Business Editor and Leigh Atkinson from the Metro Bank. The day finished with engaging Round Table Seminars, focusing on key agenda items such as Skills in Solent & Supporting Business beyond BREXIT.
Hundreds of attendees were able to access up to date, relevant information and discuss how the Solent region is shaping for the future. Through the Q&A sessions with the Speakers and Panel, as well as the Seminars, delegates were able to directly advise what exactly is happening on the ground within their businesses and inform the Solent LEP’s strategy going forward.
Within the Skills agenda for Solent, CSW are able to support businesses of all types and size with funded training available under the Skills Support for the Workforce project (SSW), as well as being able to provide training opportunities for those who have been made redundant or are at risk of redundancy.
