CSW Group are transition management specialists. We offer information, guidance and support to people and organisations as they move through different stages of their lives. We are a not-for-profit social enterprise; we reinvest any operating surpluses into new products and services, organisational development, and community based projects.

Location: Current vacancies in 4 areas – North Somerset area; Bath and North East Somerset area; East Devon area (spanning Crediton, Tiverton, Taunton), Wider Plymouth area (including Ivybridge)

Note: While we are currently recruiting for posts in the areas listed, we would welcome applications from candidates located across the wider South West of England

CSW Enterprise works in partnership with schools, colleges and businesses to support young people to access opportunities to create the workforce of tomorrow. An important part of this work is facilitating successful experiences within the workplace for school and college students on placements across the South West.

Applicants are required to have health and safety experience within a workplace environment and the IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) ‘Managing Safely’ health and safety qualification or equivalent as a minimum.  A NEBOSH (National Examination in Occupational Safety and Health) qualification would be desirable.

The role of a Work Experience Liaison Officer (WELO) is to arrange duty of care checks with employers and to help them provide a workplace experience placement that is appropriate, safe and productive for the young person concerned. WELOs discuss and assess the employer’s working environment and attitude to health and safety whilst acting as ambassadors of our business to identify opportunities for employers to engage with our range or programmes and services.

We work with schools and colleges across the South West and have a large employer network where the checks will be undertaken.

The WELO role is seasonal and hours will fluctuate across areas according to demand. The busiest period is generally for six months between February to July with limited checks undertaken across the remainder of the year.

Candidates should be customer focused, have excellent communication and ICT skills and the ability to manage their own work load and deadlines. Access to a car is essential to carry out this role.

Whilst a health and safety qualification and health and safety experience within the workplace is essential, an understanding of workplace experience programmes would be desirable but is not essential as full training is given.

The hourly rate of pay is £9.22. Reasonable travel expenses are reimbursed.
